Responsibilities

The responsibilities of a Mars Journalism Intern include:

  • Researching and reporting on the latest developments in Mars exploration and NASA's mission to explore the Red Planet.
  • Writing articles and creating multimedia content for NASA's website and social media channels.
  • Attending NASA events and conducting interviews with scientists, engineers, and other experts.
  • Assisting with social media outreach and engagement.
  • Collaborating with other interns and NASA staff to develop new content ideas.
Qualifications

To be eligible for the Mars Journalism Internship, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Must be currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program in journalism, communications, or a related field.
  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and be able to write clearly and concisely.
  • Must have a passion for science and a strong interest in space exploration.
Experience

Candidates with previous journalism or media experience will have an advantage, but it is not required.

Skills

To succeed as a Mars Journalism Intern, candidates should possess the following skills:
